Ending An Engagement
9/16/17…I got engaged… happiness and elation coursed through my veins in that moment on South Congress.
9/17/21…I sat at a large dining table surrounded by powerful women in Sedona, AZ.
Many of whom I had only met once before with tears steaming down my face.
My heart was begging for time alone and the desire to be in its own space.
What once made sense no longer made sense.
And instead of continuing to partially show up in a relationship, it was time to have a hard conversation.
10/2/21…I found myself at another table on my 37th birthday crying.
This time over sushi. Finalizing the end of a chapter with a partner that I loved and still love very much.
^ this part doesn’t make sense to many people and that’s okay, it makes sense to ME.
11/8/21…I get keys to my own place and am once again living alone for the first time in six years.
9/17/22…celebrating love at Kristin and Chance’s wedding alongside many that mysteriously came into my life at the right time a little over a year ago.
Full circle, right?
If you’ve been here for awhile, you’ve witnessed this evolution.
One that I hid behind the walls of close friends for months.
One that I may over share on IG.
Yet, it’s only a piece of my personal diary that I allow you into.
Here’s what I want the woman scared to make the next move know…
Life is full of full circle moments.
It’s up to you to choose to believe one day it will all come together FOR you.
And while life doesn’t necessarily get easier, I promise there is plenty of joy for you to find, have, and celebrate along the way.
So, this is me CELEBRATING this milestone in words…
And a few things I’d like to offer you…
1️⃣ your goals and desires are allowed to change whenever your heart says so.
2️⃣ when you start believing in yourself more than anything else your life will change.
3️⃣ with every hard decision you make, you’ll find there’s a new level of freedom and a piece of yourself that you didn’t know existed.
I hope that you choose the hard thing and trust that some day you’ll find your full circle moment too.
XO,
Yo
